Direct-Acting VS Pilot-Operated Regulators

Another commercial project for A.Y. McDonald. This time, an explainer on how direct-acting and pilot-operated gas regulators function.

I received CAD models of the regulators directly from A.Y. McDonald, and the rest of the 3D production was up to me. I made minor tweaks to the models in Plasticity and modeled additional assets (such as the industrial gas meter) there as well. The trees and bushes were created in SpeedTree. The rest of the production used Houdini Solaris workflow, with post-production handled in Fusion and DaVinci Resolve.

The final output was delivered in both horizontal and vertical formats for social media.
